OUR STORY
Background
Future Kwaai is a record label, fashion house and new media platform founded by artist Umlilo aka Kwaai Diva. Intergalactic shape-shifting kwaai diva "Umlilo" is an innovative genre bending multi-disciplinary artist in music, fashion, 3D animation, VR, visual art and performance. Future Kwaai is a creative endeavor that explores new creative technologies in A.I, music, 3D design and animation, video editing, VFX, costume and make-up. Umlilo is the founder of Future Kwaai Records, co-founder of LeGrand Queer Arts Festival and the fashion label Kwaai Boutique and Kwaai Hair. Her work is rooted in the black and queer experience and tries to foster conversation and exchange with local and international communities and artists. She has worked with institutions like Goethe, Prohelvetia, British Council, OneBeat USA and many more.
